International Style
The International Style of dancing was designed by
the English as primarily a competitive form of dance.
The Standard dances (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango,
Quickstep,
and Viennese Waltz) differ from the
American Style in that you remain in closed position
at all times. The Latin dances that are part of the
International Style (Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Paso
Doble,
and Jive) are danced with an emphasis on
technique and style. The International Style is designed
for the person who has already studied the American
Style and would like to take on new dance challenges.
The International Style class material is standardized
throughout the world and includes Bronze, Silver, Gold,
and Open Gold levels of difficulty.
